Adviser Sanjay Srikantiah is the current Public-Private Economic Partnership (PPEP) Specialist with The American Chamber of Commerce - Kazakhstan. Sanjay currentlyl supports the preparation for a Public-Private Economic Partnership Initiative launch event. The job involves extensive research, writing on policy issues related to investment, and examines the Government of Kazakhstan’s (GOK) recently-adopted program, entitled “30 Corporate Leaders” and identify possible areas for involvement of U.S. companies as mentors/partners, the “30 Corporate Partners.” He also explores and proposes specific synergies and linkages between AmCham activities and joint USAID-GOK program for economic development (PED),
Mexico
EMDAP Adviser Ana Luisa Pinto recently worked with Alternativa Solidaria A.C. (AlSol), a local microfinance institution serving women in the Chiapas region. Ana Luisa strengthened the institutional image of AlSol through marketing materials such as brochures for the loan officers to distribute to potential clients, and quarterly newsletters presenting the latest developments in AlSol. She has conducted focus group discussions with clients to listen to their suggestions for improving the program, and she is currently looking to implement client satisfaction mechanisms to increase client retention.

1st Regional Conference on Developing Service Markets and Value Chains |
EMDAP Adviser Greg Swarin participated
in the
1st Regional Conference on Developing Service Markets and Value Chains during the period of 19-21 February, 2007 at Grand Hyatt hotel.
The conference reviewed challenges faced by service providers in the region and examined how these constraints could be overcome in light of the international experience in facilitating the development of business services markets that focus on strengthening SMEs.
